The Boise Fire Swift Water/Dive Rescue Team has completed surface supplied air training. Surface supplied air greatly enhances the divers safety because the air is supplied from the surface through a network of compressed breathing air cylinders. Safety is further enhanced because the diving firefighter can effectively communicate directly with surface personnel their status, water conditions and findings. An additional safety enhancement is that the diver is tethered to the surface so we always know where the diver is at. Prior to surface supplied air compressed air tanks were used for diving (Self-contained underwater breathing apparatus- scuba).
On August 9, at 2:00 p.m., at Quinn’s pond, we will demonstrate this type of diving. Please call or text 208-982-0737 if you plan to attend. Attached is a map, park in the old Bob Rice parking lot and walk down the path to the dock.
