FIRE DAMAGES GENE HARRIS BANDSHELL IN JULIA DAVIS PARK
The Boise Fire Department responded to a fire at the Gene Harris Bandshell in Julia Davis Park Monday night. The call came in at approximately 8:15 p.m. When firefighters arrived on scene, there was smoke pouring from the roof and flames in the front. One truck and three engines responded to the fire.
The historic structure sustained roof damage, the extent of that damage is still being assessed, but we're hopeful that the structure will be saved.
No one was injured and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
The Gene Harris Bandshell was constructed in 1928 and has been the site of many concerts, performances and events over the years.
