The Hill Road Fire that burned 200 acres in the foothills was accidentally caused by two kids playing in a back yard fort. The two juveniles had a small fire in the fort that quickly got out of control. The fire started at 8:30 p.m. on September 1. It was difficult to control as it burned in steep terrain. About ten homes were threatened but no structures were damaged. The fire was contained at 3 a.m. Crews were mopping up the fire today. The Boise Fire Department will monitor the fire overnight.
Ada County Sheriff's detectives are now handling this investigation.
The Boise Fire Department wants to remind people that the foothills are extremely dry and open burning is never allowed in the Boise foothills.
