The public is invited to attend the Idaho Fallen Firefighter Memorial Ceremony on Friday, September 8 at 2 p.m. at the Idaho Fallen Firefighter Memorial Park located at 1775 West Shoreline Drive, Boise.
The ceremony is dedicated to those who have made the supreme sacrifice while protecting the communities they serve.
During the ceremony, State Fire Marshal Knute Sandahl will present Captain Dave Krumenacker from the Blackfoot Fire Department with the State of Idaho Medal of Honor for firefighting. The Medal of Honor is awarded for an extraordinary act of valor and exceptional meritorious conduct while in the performance of duty.
About the memorial: The Idaho Fallen Firefighter Memorial was established in 2008 and includes a bronze sculpture and memorial wall honoring Idaho’s Fallen Firefighters. The memorial park exemplifies Idaho – its pride, family values, and commitment to service.
