The Fire Safe House teaches students what to do if a smoke detector is going off in their home, and while we won’t be coming to the schools with the Safe House there is still a good way for students to learn about fire safety.
The Boise Fire Department resources and videos on this page offers a suggested format for teachers and parents to follow. Use the “Smoke Detector Safety Tips” to make sure your home is ready for an unplanned fire. Then, have your youth conduct an in-home safety inspection as a Jr. Fire Marshal using the “Fire Safety” document. Further education of your Jr. Fire Marshal can be provided in the additional Student Resources.
